ProdOfTheCentury respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. All beats and musical works available on our platform are protected by:
- New Zealand Copyright Act 1994
- Berne Convention (international copyright protection)
- US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) for international compliance
How to Report Copyright Infringement
If you believe your work has been infringed on our platform, please submit a notice containing:
Our Response Process
Upon receiving a valid copyright notice, we will:
- Review the claim: Verify all required information is provided
- Remove or disable access: Promptly remove the allegedly infringing content if claim appears valid
- Notify the uploader: Inform the producer who uploaded the content of the takedown
- Maintain records: Keep documentation of the notice and our actions
Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was wrongly removed, you may submit a counter-notice with:
- Your contact information
- Identification of the removed content and its previous location
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the content was removed by mistake or misidentification
- Your consent to jurisdiction in New Zealand courts (or US District Court if applicable)
- Your physical or electronic signature
We will forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant. If they do not file legal action within 10-14 business days, we may restore the content.
Repeat Infringer Policy
ProdOfTheCentury has a policy of terminating accounts of repeat copyright infringers. Users who:
- Receive 3 or more valid copyright strikes
- Repeatedly upload infringing content after warnings
- Engage in systematic copyright violations
...will have their accounts permanently terminated without refund.
Sample Clearance Requirements
Producers uploading beats to our platform must:
- Own all rights to the musical composition and sound recording, OR
- Have obtained proper clearance for any samples used
- Disclose the use of samples in beat descriptions
- Warrant that all content is original or properly licensed
Using uncleared samples is a violation of copyright law and may result in legal action against both the producer and the buyer.

False Claims
Submitting a false copyright claim is a serious matter. Under NZ law and DMCA, making a false claim may result in:
- Liability for damages (including costs and legal fees)
